Why should I feel discouraged?

WHY SHOULD I FEEL DISCOURAGED?

Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come,

Why should my heart be lonely And long for Heav'n and home,

When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:

This song was particularly meaningful to me one day when I was struggling with discouragement and despair. A friend of mine from church took the trouble to type it out for me, just to encourage me.

Thanks , Andrew, for reminding me to sing God's praises even in the midst of my troubles, for I know that God cares for me.
